SB 1070: Racism, NOT Reform

After reading this bill, all I have to say is that I am against it for many reasons.
First of all I am an immigrant myself and I know what it is like to be discriminated. Another reason that I am against this, is that it really isn't that far from going back in time to the Rosa Parks. This bill has taken it too far; and I can go as far as to say that is is simply Racist. They want to get rid of illegal immigrants taking advantage of job opportunities but don't stop to think that no one else will do the work these illegal immigrants do; such as picking up crops, cleaning bathrooms and gardening. I just believe that it is not fair at all to discriminate on these illegal immigrants.

NIKE....just do it?

 JUST DO IT

Hello everybody, I hope all of you guys had a pleasant Easter weekend and day. I sure had a lot of fun, with loved ones and I am grateful. I am going to be informing you about the famous and successful company named Nike.  I chose this company, because it has been the leader in sport brands for many years. That is why that leads me to think that it is extremely powerful financially.

Nike's Stock was at 50% prior to the recession in the Fall of 2008. Nike did not receive any TARP Funds.
Nike has not been involved with any mortgage lending, I thought it did somehow but after researching, nothing really showed up.
After the recession, Nike's revenue was $4.73 billion. Before the recession, Nike's revenue was $16.32 billion.

The Irony of Ironies

Emanuel David Ginobili, best known as "Manu" Ginobili was healthy all throughout the regular NBA season. I am diehard Spurs Fan, and my team has not let me down, well at least that was the case until today. They collected the best record in the NBA until the very last day, when ironically Manu sprained his right elbow after just entering the game. This is very ironic because all the Spurs players had remained healthy and just right before the playoffs, this catastrophe had to happen. Why????? i asked myself for hours, but I guess I'm going to have to live with it and hope Manu Ginobili comes back by game 2 of the playoffs. Today was game 1 of the playoffs and my team lost at home. It is very ironic, because the Spurs were supposed to win.....they had homecourt advantage!!! Well, onto game 2, we'll see how the spurs react, specially Manu. I forgot to mention, Ginobili is from Argentina, and I he has been my favorite player for numerous years. As i mentioned before, I am from Peru so I love the fact that another fellow South American is having success in the U.S . As i am writing this I wonder who's really going to care this at all, but oh well it's a blog.

Who's Giancarlo???

My name is Giancarlo. I am a 20 year old from Lima, Peru. Words fail to explain how grateful I am with God for everything. I have a great family and friends, and I treasure my special loved one Teresa very much.  I love to play and watch basketball, love dogs, and Peruvian food. I am Double majoring in Sociology and Music. Sociology: since it is a pretty broad field which enables me to work with the communities that surround us.  My desire is to be able to help people around me in one way or another. I would love to able to be a translator or an assistant to attorneys that represent those that have no voice and are in need of support. I also desire to play music as a career, since it has been my passion since a little kid and has been in the family for many years.

Englis-1A:

I want to learn how to express myself the best way possible in writing. This blog will help me, because I will be able to go back and revise what i wrote in the past and thus will know of my improvement.

Worksheet Part 2:

I learned that most of the people that make the products I use, are elders and children of young age working in factories overseas.
I also learned that they are paid low wages and work massive hours. It turns out that most of the headquarters of the companies are in the U.S. even though factories are hundreds of thousands miles away.
